Taiko No Tatsujin

Taiko No Tatsujin is a Japanse rhythm game, originally only available in arcades. Nowadays, the game is available for all major consoles as well as PC. It can be played with a drum, keyboard, or controller, though drum is definetly the recommended method.

I'm still new to the game so I'm not the best but I decided I wanted the drum experience. I bought the official Hori drum which made the game way more enjoyable, however, it was very loud.

I decided to mod it to make it more sensitive and thereby quiter. This went horribly and I practically destroyed the drum.

Having tasted the sweet nectar of drum-gaming, I had to have more. I went pretty all-in and got the arcade-sized TDC17.

TDC17

The TDC17 is an arcade-sized drum by Rhythmagica. I'll attach their showcase video below so you can see what it looks like and it's basic features.

My Experience with the TDC17

I've had the drum for a few days now and I'm still getting back into the game, having not played at all since I broke the Hori. So far, it's fantastic. It has a very bouncy rubber face and software-adjustable sensitivity.

Since I'm still pretty terrible at the game, I'll wait until I'm more experienced to write any type of review but I will say that it's fun to play with.

One last note I have is that, since Taiko No Tatsujin is such a simple game, the drum makes for a great gaming experience for friends and family who might otherwise not be into gaming.
